it was a few years ago. i don't know what "lazy eye" means ; basically the inner muscles of both of my eyes (for looking towards the center) were weaker than the outer muscles. so when my eyes were tired, they didn't want to converge, making it hard to read, use the computer, or focus on anything close to me.

DesertGrandma - I hope all goes well with your granddaughter. It's such an awful feeling when they tell you your little one needs surgery of any kind. Hopefully this last one will do the trick, 3rd times a charm and all that.
another good trick for resting the eyes, particularly when you've been reading or staring at the screen :
take a deep breath and hold it, simultaneously tensing all the muscles you can : arms, stomach, legs, etc. and squeezing your eyes shut tightly. hold it for a few seconds, then let out your breath and relax all your muscles. the reason this works is that the involuntary muscles (in your eyes) are contracted along with the voluntary ones (arms, etc.) and when you relax them all at once it forces the involuntary muscles to relax as well. i do this and it helps a lot. it does make you look a bit foolish though so best to do it when you're alone.

Abbey is in no pain, and very little discomfort. I must say she loooks kinda funny, one eye is very dilated, the other normal. I think both mommy and child willhave haing a restful nap soon. They both need it.

Hopefully this will be the final surgery. Only time will tell.

Glasses and patches don't work for her particular problem.
i hope it's the last surgery too dg ! i hope she gets lost of rest and feels better soon.
