I have - seriously - never ever in my live seen a Linux system (configured correctly) run noticeably slower then a Windows system (3D left apart).
Thus I believe that there was some error in the configuration or in the auto-detection (this stuff happens with every OS out there...). Some configuration would solve this.

(2) lack of video drivers(in my case i could not get a decent resolution)
Not true - get them from your vendor. This might actually be a reason (or are you using TOP-SOTA graphic hardware? And even then..)

(3) needs more software polishing
?????? Only if you never tried to install additional software

(4) did not detects my wireless card ( windows detects and automatically installs it)
Quite possible. Have a short google - chances are very good that there is an easy-too-follow-manual to install your wireless card.

(5) You have to be command line know how
I call (a small) BS on this one (at least for modern flavors of Ubuntu). Most systems will never have to be configured via CL.

(6) Lack of customization in colors, windows borders and themes etc, colors and themes are really plain boring
I call BIG BS on this one ... You can configure any- and everything.
Trust me ...

(7) not main stream, more than 90% people use windows and I am sure there is a reason behind it
Yeah ... thats a hell of a reason Their is an old saying about flies ...
Most people use Windows because it comes with their computer and they are plain lazy. (This is not necessarily a bad thing - just the fact of it). Apart from that there are some points like "gaming industry having treaties with MS to not port games to linux" and stuff like that - you can Google it for yourself.
And Linux has not been competitive for "computer unsavy" users for some years - it is now.

Sorry - but testing a new operating system for some minutes will never work. Get a linux geek to install windows and test it for some hours - he will not have a decent running system. (And yes, I did this test with some Linux geeks).
Get someone used to Win in front of a Mac - and (for the first few hours) he will have some serious problems, until he has a really running system.

You are free to use Windows - but testing Linux for some hours (various flavours .. gives some ideas about the time for each ), not really trying and then saying "yeah, thats the facts about it... " is not really fair. At least have the decency to say "I never wanted to test it, just needed an excuse to stick with Windows" (thats okay. I'm not here to preach or tell you what to do - just want you to be fair).

(Oh and "free with your laptop" is stupid - you paid for your OS. Whether it was part of the bill for your laptop or paid separately - you paid for it).
