2D scrolling in zoomed in PDFs
I'm struggling with the following scenario.
Let's say I open in koreader a scientific article in PDF format, which contains mostly text organised in vertical columns, but also an occasional image which spans the entire width of the page and about half the height of the page.
By setting Zoom to Custom, increasing the Zoom Factor % and choosing the Up-Down-[Right-Up]-Down reading direction, I can press the Up/Down arrows and it will move the view roughly across the text content of columns, one column at a time.
However, in this mode the Left/Right arrows move the view in the same direction as the Up/Down arrows. But this doesn't make sense for images.
One solution is to temporarily switch to the Left-Right-[Down-Left]-Right reading direction, because then at least I won't have to jump all the way to the top or bottom of the page, before seeing the second horizontal half of the image.
Is there a better way of dealing with this? My first instinct would be to just have a 2D scrolling mode, where Up/Down and Left/Right arrows move the view as expected, without an assumption about the reading direction. But I couldn't make koreader work this way.
