Did the usb-c mod

Hey,
Might be a few years late.
I did a usb-c mod with my kobo. Fun little project done in a couple hours.
Wasn't hard at all, but can be tedious if you aren't used to soldering and small electronics.
It charges on any charger now, connects faster to the pc. Finally I can thow out the micro-b.

For any one interested in a how to:
Used my dremmel to make the usb port fit and used sandpaper to make it smooth.
Removing the old connector was fine with my desoldering iron. Had to cut off parts of the motherboard and on the inside of the case to make room for the usb-c.
Just had to connect ground, data+,data- and +5v. Did that with some 6core OD 1.4mm and I just took out the 2 cores that weren't needed. Connected it to the correct pins, tests and presto. Used some UV resin/glue to hold the usb-c port in place and put the kobo back together.
Simple test of the connection and charging:

I can make a youtube video on the process, when I have more free time.
