I just downloaded a book published before December 9, 2025. It is a Star Trek book which should come without DRM. I think books like that with no DRM will be able to be downloaded via a browser.

I also had a look at the cover and the title page. It looks like the resolution is correct. There is more compression. I took a look at hi-res covers from Kobo and Amazon and they both have a larger file size. So if this is how it's going to be, I'm all for it for hi-res graphics.
