Yesterday there was a
big explosion (probably a gas explosion) and a fire near where I used to live. Several buildings have collapsed and a lot of buildings in the area are damaged. There were four people hurt, though not badly and although there aren't any people reported missing they're still searching. The people living in the house weren't home at the time of the explosion.
A family friend lives around the corner, but an hour after the explosion he was still home, so hopefully he wasn't evacuated since he has trouble walking. A childhood friend of my sister grew up in that street and her sister and family still live there. The family is fine and there isn't any visible damage to their home.
A lot of businesses in the area were regular customers in our store, so we know the owners/employees. I hope everyone is alright, though I know several businesses are severely damaged. It brings back memories from the fire we had in 2013.
