Thank you for the testing and feedback! Glad to hear it is working well for you. And yes I asked that question about the menu item approach in case some testers reported significant (or just irritating) slowdowns.

Yes my worries would be non-ascii, CJK languages, Chinese, Korean, Arabic, etc. Hopefully someone who uses that language or at least has an existing epub that uses any of those languages could test and report back.
