It's too bad you couldn't make it work with the 8BitDo keyboard, but you learned a lot about the device. I don't know a lot about Bluetooth, but I wonder if this is more than linux kernel version problem. Perhaps the hardware in the 903 does not support higher versions of the Bluetooth standard? If so, even a more recent kernel would not make it work. I'm a bit surprised that the 8BitDo controller can't fall back to a previous standard to work with older devices, but maybe that's normal for Bluetooth. Anyway, I hope you take your new-found expertise about loading software onto your old device and come up with some other useful projects.
