I've been interested in Readium LCP lately, so I'm looking into it.
LCP DRM - Extracting Files - MobileRead Forums
There's some information in the previous thread, but I'll summarize what I know.
Readium LCP is an ISO International Standard, referenced as
ISO/IEC 23078-2:2024.
The European Accessibility Act (EAA) has strongly driven the adoption of Readium LCP in Europe. In Japan, the Act on Promotion of Reading Environment for Persons with Visual Impairments (Reading Barrier-Free Act) is the equivalent, and the government is considering promoting the adoption of Readium LCP.
Tolino eReaders already support Readium LCP, but Kobo eReaders do not yet. According to EDRLab,
this is expected to arrive in 2026.
There are multiple versions of Readium LCP DRM. 1.0 was once supported by DeDRM, but they were forced to remove support due to a DMCA takedown.
abustany/lcp-decrypt was also DMCA takedowned.
As far as is known, the removal solution for the latest Readium LCP 2.5 DRM is held exclusively by
Epubor. Another thing you can do is debug Thorium Reader with DevTools to
extract the files.
