It's coming up on 3 years since I got this Sage and I've been noticing a shortening of the battery life. So, I performed my battery life test again. Instead of the original 9 hours and 11 minutes that this Sage got new, it now gets 7 hours and 20 minutes:
Hour 1: from 100% to 90% = 10%
Hour 2: from 90% to 80% = 10%
Hour 3: from 80% to 70% = 10%
Hour 4: from 69% to 57% = 12% (1% loss during sleep)
Hour 5: from 57% to 43% = 14%
Hour 6: from 41% to 31% = 10% (2% loss during sleep)
Hour 7: from 31% to 17% = 14%
15 more minutes: from 16% to 10% = 6% (1% loss during sleep -- 10% warning appeared)
2 more minutes: from 10% to 3% = 7% and Shutdown
Note that power drain from 17% charge to Shutdown over the last 17 minutes.
Anyway, I haven't been able to find a video of someone actually replacing the battery on a Sage. From the other videos I've seen, I think the case just wraps around the screen from the back and can be pried off. I haven't found what a replacement battery would be yet. But, I've also read that the battery wires are soldered in. And, I don't solder. So, it looks like I'll be looking for yet another replacement e-reader.
BUT, it looks like Kobo has abandoned the 10" e-reader market. The Sage has been out of stock in the US since last April and, back in August, a Kobo rep told me in a chat that the Sage was discontinued:

All Kobo now sells are 6", 7" and 10" e-readers. Those are either too small or too large. Does anyone have a suggestion for a good 8" black-and -white e-reader that works well with Calibre? I don't want color and don't care about note-taking. I just need a good e-reader for these tired, old eyes. Note that Amazon is not an option.
