I think you are in the correct place. I saw your post a couple of days back when I was on the train, but then forgot to respond when I returned home.
Maybe expand the thread title to "Request Science Fiction recommendations". Try not to use All-Caps. It can be a bit annoying and some people won't respond because of it.
