You have 2 Magazine type. Could that be 1 and you have a VL's set for Linux and (Not Linux) others
Same for Books and Standard Books. What makes those Libraries (structurally) Different?
Different behaviors (Plugin settings, columns and (age)SECURITY ) are reasons FOR separate Libraries.
I don't necessarily NEED 5 libraries, I want them for organizing purposes.

I'm not sure what you mean by CURRENT library. It doesn't matter which library I currently have selected in calibre. I've added quite a few books today to my "Books" library, and the server homepage "Recently added..." section STILL only shows recently added books in my Standard Ebooks library. That doesn't change, even if I change to a different library, restart the content server and reload the server homepage in my browser.
