A. E. Martin (1885-1955) was an Australian showman who worked in vaudeville and theatre as well as co-producing the weekly newspaper The Gadfly, for which he wrote a number of short stories in the early 1900s. In the post World War 2 years he turned to crime novels.
This novel shows his familiarity with show business. An impossible crime, a murder live on stage during a performance, and none saw how it happened.
