It's even OK to have more than one reading device for different purposes.
I'm a total nerd weirdo I suppose, for having a full Android phone (Pixel 9A, it was SUCH a deal), an iPad Air, and three different brands of e-ink readers (Kobo, Pocketbook, and Kindle), all of which are in regular use.
And while we are being all non-ecosystem centric, a Garmin fitness watch!
As for this time of year, I get it. We get a lot of fog in our little eastern OR valley. It can be really gloomy for months. The doctors around here all prescribe supplemental vitamin D. I use one of those SAD lamps, and get what light I can. It does help. Today, happily, is sunny, though freezing temps out.

No, I know what works for me pretty much, I did get overly into trying something new, but why change something that's already working for me. A newer "amazon" device, whatever they want to call them will be best for me.
I love my fitbit by the way, most of all, I love it as a timer when I'm cooking

I also have a lot of mood-lighting in my place. I love the soft colors and I can't handle a dark place so when I'm up in the a.m. I turn on all the soft lighting.
I love your area, and been through there many times. I'm a country gal so I don't like the cities at all, avoid them
