Well, this is I prefer to buy from local store, or Amazon DE. There is a way to handle warranty if needed.
These f*ck ups are same no matter the manufacturer. You can buy absurdly expensive device from Apple for example, and you will get screwed anyway (maybe there is even more probability).
I also hate that large portion of today devices are not easy repairable. For example that charging port is an easy fix. But not much manufacturers does things like Fairphone for example. This is not exclusive to readers and phones. But that is completely another story.
