I am a proud owner of an iRiver Story HD since its launch in 2011. No other e-reader in my opinion compares. I love the simple functional design, light weight, crisp text and keyboard.
The USB port on my Story HD has detached and it is impossible to repair without special tools. The soldering is too fine. I purchased a never used "open box" replacement on ebay.
Although it doesn't have a scratch on it, the screen ghosts slightly, which my original story never did, even after years of heavy use. I am not sure if this is due to degradation from sitting on a shelf in a warehouse for 14 years, or because the firmware is 1.00.
Please share with me a later firmware, either the latest 1.34, or at least above 1.30. I would greatly appreciate it. Despite scouring the internet, I could not find anything above 1.19, and it was for the basic model. Many Thanks.
