wow. okay. i've got a friend who's seen his share of fights (including in london pubs, when he was visiting) but at the time he was a hard core punk rocker and i guess that was more or less inevitable sometimes. i'm quite the delicate flower, i've never been in a fight and wouldn't know what to do if i ever saw one (except panic, maybe, or run away, or something. i really don't know what i'd do). i've lived in some relatively bad neighborhoods (and near some *really* bad ones), and i used to routinely cross the entire city on foot alone at 4 in the morning after a concert, but i've actually been stunningly lucky. at worst i've been hassled verbally, but just typical macho guy stuff whenever any woman crosses their field of vision.
