Hello to a new forum!
I recently got a PB627. KoReader is already working nicely, but I'd like to go a few extra steps and make some changes in system folders.
I tried to jailbreak it; there seems to be only
this option. I tried executing @Jailbreak.app of v6 (older) and v8 (latest), but it gets stuck, does not reboot, then, after pressing the devices Home button, I get the last message that says "Rooting failed" or some such.
Rebooting manually does not help either.
KoReader has a terminal, but I just get permission denied for /mnt/secure/su. Probably for the whole folder, so I'm not sure 'su' even got copied there.
uname -a says
Linux pocketbook 3.0.8-hg+default-5aef0455b9aa #1 PREEMPT Mon Jul 11 09:46:07 UTC 2022 armv7l GNU/Linux
And the Software version is
U627.6.5.2898
Released 20220720_182323
Localization: WW
Could this be the reason why it does not work? Too new? Exploit fixed?

FWIW, all I really want is to maybe lighten the system and make koreader launch immediately, autostart type.
