I received my Kobo Remote and have mixed feelings. I'm using it with a Clara 2E
It works well for turning pages. Page turns are "instantaneous" compared to tapping to turn pages.
As Robert says, there is a slight clicking, but using the edge reduces this. I think I needed to press harder on the edge as I sometimes needed to press twice on the edge to get a page turn.
Battery life suffers when using the remote. The battery went down 10% in one day, where as I normally get at least 5% per day.
I normally have wifi off. When it wakes from sleep, wifi is on, so I need to turn it off every time I wake the reader. I'm curious as I don't recall posts of wifi being turned on for those using Kobos for audio books.
Opening the battery case was very hard the first time; I had to use a tool to open it and worried about damaging the remote it was so hard. After the first time, it opens much easier.
The main killer for me is the battery drain; I wasn't expecting that much. I value long battery life. I probably won't be using the remote as much as I hoped to.
