I don't know if I am the luckiest man in America or quite the shrewd navigator of the labyrinth of Amazon, but AI slop has never been an issue for me.
I even searched for all the books mentioned in the Rolling Stone article, using purposely vague search terms. For instance, I searched 'Wild Faith' and the first result was a devotional for kids and the second result was the book mentioned in the article.
Enshittification brought up the Doctorow book as the first result.
Neither of these are books I had searched for before.
I do often have a problem when searching for a specific edition of a public domain classic, no matter how many details I include in the search box. But that's been an issue since well before AI came along.
