I've never owned a backlit e-reader. I have owned many that are frontlit, and if that's what you're referring to, I'm puzzled how you think the absence would be an improvement. Also, having gone through ereaders with many different resolutions, "resolution doesn't matter a lot" is another statement I can barely even parse, let alone agree with.
