I guess the sentence was to mean "not having to have an external light source for reading is one the most nice features in e-readers".
Although, if wanting to be cherry-picking, also the scratch-resistant glass layer can be a tier that slightly might decrease crispness iirc (no scratch resistant glass would mean having to use a cover that weights 100/135 gr).
