It took me a long time but I was able to fix the problem. Not sure what it was exactly, may have had something to do with the PyQt5 fallback, but not sure. I gave all the code to ChatGPT and together we fixed it. FYI I know nothing about python coding. I was also able to have it pull the author in without adding the composer and it also puts the composer into it's own field. Provided you set up a column in Calibre for composer. Again thanks to PetrusV for this plugin.
