Since I have a Kobo ereader, I just synced it to pick up the book so never tried to see if a refund was possible.

Edit: I chatted with a Kobo rep and was informed that there should no longer be books that were purchased and do not offer either an ePub for non-DRMmed or an acsm for DRMmed ebooks download option. This does not include loans whether Kobo Plus, Overdrive or other lending options.
