I haven't seen any for the Sage, but for others Kobo devices it doesn't seems hard:

*using precautions, not doing it in a hurry, using plastic tools not to damage the cover nor to cut one's self, etc..

There is a comment on how to remove the battery without deforming it, which it's marked as dangerous.
