"My Digital Editions" would be from using ADE (Adobe's ePub reader).

The suggestions below should be done without calibre running so bring up task manager and end any calibre processes.

I would suggest looking for your calibre library and renaming the folder. Then run calibre and see if it prompts you to create a new library. This is eliminate a corrupt library database from the issue.

If that doesn't work, then look in %AppData%\Roaming for a folder called calibre. Rename it to something like calibre.old. This will allow calibre to run without any configuration as if you had a new install.

Finally, uninstall calibre, delete the calibre2 folder from Program Files and the calibre folder from AppData\Roaming and then try reinstalling calibre.
