Regarding software differences, for anyone searching this topic, I just noticed Dropbox sync is only available for Kobo Forma, Kobo Sage, Kobo Elipsa, Kobo Elipsa 2E and Kobo Libra Colour.

I would have preferred Kobo Clara BW, but I need Dropbox sync, so I'll probably have to for Kobo Libra Colour.
