Thank you so much! I have successfully tested this on my main Kindle 4 and it works perfectly - I can now go online and get RSS or test eInk webdev. Note that Kindles (or at least the K4) will refuse LAN-only WiFi connections, and insist on connecting to the WWW. (Similarly, Windows 10's WiFi hotspot requires a connection to the WWW/Microsoft to run, and will not work LAN only or if you have bad internet. Windows 7 and below have no such limitation)
