Once you resolve what you want to merge (to keep which is more current)

Or, when you want to resolve at a later time....
simplly set Preferences: adding books: Adding Actions (a tab): When using COPY TO LIBRARY to always CREATE A NEW RECORD for each duplicate format (this only kicks in IF the same title has the format)

While viewing the SOURCE library, select all the books you want to merge: right click Copy To Library: <target>optional action
Also, if the source library has columns that the distention library doesn't, when the requestor shows that is asking which columns you want, select which columns you want to copy over.
