Clip-ons are ugly as all get up.
I did make a "poker" once using a dot of adhesive copper foil punched with a notebook hole puncher.
A circuit connected to that. It was a diode pair with a forward/reverse driver.
Still, the "gold standard" is a HID over GATT Bluetooth device using its own custom .kl keylayout file.
It should support Keyboard (0x07) and Consumer (0x0c) HID and no stupid mouse controls.
Which is exactly what I've used for my last three ereaders.
