I'm facing this problem too.
I have a Tolino Vision Color that I converted to a Kobo Libra Color.
The issue is the firmware versioning: the last official KLC firmware is 4.43.23418, and the last Tolino Vision Color firmware is 5.10.225420. The device is now recognized as a Kobo Libra Color, but using the 5.10.225420 version: only the brand identity was changed.
The thing is: everytime I send a book using Calibre, I receive an error stating I may face issues because the last official Kobo firmware is 4.43.23418 and I need to update my device to send information while transferring a book. This was not a problem when the device was running as a Tolino, even though the version number was the same.
Also, I'm facing a standby cover issue: when a book is open and I put the device on standby, the cover does not show. However, if I close the book, go to the main menu, and then put the e-reader on standby, the cover displays correctly.
I managed to fix this manually for a book by changing the Kobo Touch Config to Advanced options > Support new firmware and Library, selecting the book, going to the Kobo Utilities submenu, and selecting Upload covers for selected book > Upload covers for Kobo epubs. After performing this on a previous book, the same one I attached a picture here, it now shows the cover. This process shouldn't be necessary.
Unfortunately, I can't provide a screenshot of the error because I turned off notifications after the last one, and I don't know how to turn them back on. Any advice on how to re-enable the Calibre pop-up notifications to capture the exact warning, or a permanent fix for these two technical issues, is highly appreciated.
I'm running calibre 8.13.0 and the plugin version is 2.24.5.
Thank you very much.
