So is the deep dish is typically eaten "unfolded" or with utensils?
I don't get the eating style fixation either. I try to stay totally neutral, I love NY style and Chicago style pizzas. I have eaten plenty of both, in both cities.

My personal favorite is NY style - thin crust, salty and with that translucent layer of grease. Whenever I fly to NY I would make a point to stop at Grimaldi's in Brooklyn, I love that stuff.

I also love the Chicago style deep dish with that buttery crust. This is a much bigger time investment and it's usually a special occasion. Must include sausage.

BTW I never fold my pizza.
