That is the most valuable tip concerning the problems with the 2024 generation of Kindle readers !
It should appear in the Calibre documentation though.

Actually, the 2024 Kindles don't quite work like the old one. What doesn't work is the ability to side load covers for when Amazon deletes your covers. Access to the directory where the covers are kept on the Kindle has been removed.
