There is another issue. Almost all "radio set" clocks in Ireland use the UK time transmission, formerly from Rugby. None of these that I've seen have a local time zone or DST setting. They are currently in the local shops. I've one old one that has a VFD and radio. It has no manual setting. Most have no manual setting.

The German one is next nearest and on a different frequency and also set to CET. I'm not sure the German signal can even be received in Ireland. Even the UK one is marginal in the Mid West.

What about GPS based clocks? They need to pick up the satellites in the 1.4 GHz band so only work near a window, that isn't made of K glass. The K glass reduces heat loss in winter and heating up in sunshine and also blocks GPS and most mobile. Also one good solar flare and there is no GPS.

There are a few clocks that use the Internet via WiFi. Common with local "weather stations" that can report to the Internet. In theory Mobile / Cell signals can be used, but I've never seen that on a stand-alone clock.
