Sorry to burst your bubble, nearly every single lipo battery for an embedded device is proprietary custom built for the device. That's actually one of their advantages -- manufacturers can easily shape them to fit.
Even your example is a proprietary battery.
As much as I'd love to be able to replace the battery easily, there just are not good options. To enable this, significant battery life would be sacrificed and increased weight would be necessary.
And so far, with careful treatment, by the time the battery in my kobo was weak, I had already upgraded to a new device anyway and was only using the device as a secondary device.
