Try a book with images with text wrapped around them. For one example from MobileRead's library, check @zelda_pinwheel's version of the illustrated Three Men in a Boat.

When I decided to reformat my copy after noticing some issues when displaying on my computer, a couple of ereaders and other devices, using some epub3 features made it much easier and gave smoother results over those multiple devices and renderers.

Another reason for moving to ePub3 is simply that ePub3 has been around for 14 years.
This is why I've said most books and not all. Most novels don't benefit from ePub3 if the persons reading does not use any sort of assistance.

I do agree that some books would benefit and that where ePub3 comes in handy.
