Back in the distant past before Future Shop purchased Best Buy and rebranded their stores, a friend of mine purchased a C compiler for their personal use. When they went to install it, one of the terms in the compiler EULA stated that any output produced by the compiler was, in part, the property of the supplier and you would need to purchase a separate license for each computer on which the output was installed due to the proprietary support packages. They did not agree with that term and terminated the install. They did print out the last bit of the EULA which stated that if you did not agree with the terms and conditions, you could return the package to where it was purchased for a refund.
I went with them to Future Shop and we spent an enjoyable 90 minutes (for certain values of enjoyment). Future Shop's first argument was that the package had been opened and so was not returnable. This was countered by pointing to the EULA and the refund provision in there and could someone please explain how you were supposed to read the EULA without opening the package. After much back and forth between us and an assortment of store staff, they finally issued a full refund. I suspect more to get us out of the store than any other reason.
