Based on my experience with the Oasis and the BOOX Go 7 Color, I'll bet that the BOOX Go 7 B&W is as good as the Oasis. The Go 7 Color is not quite up to the Oasis for reading text, but it's actually more comfortable to hold. And the BOOX lets you access Kindle & Kobo books via their apps.
Of course, cost is an issue, and you could own both a Kindle and a Kobo for about the same price as buying a BOOX, but if you don't mind the cost, and spend a little time learning to use it, BOOX is the way to go.
