I agree completely!
I read almost exclusively with the frontlight off anyway.
The only device where I really appreciate the flush glass layer and the frontlight is my Bigme Hibreak Pro, which I use as my phone. Obviously, additional protection is great in such cases. But I don't need it when reading at home.
