Thanks to all for your illuminating and comprehensive replies. It was a misunderstanding of mine but, trust me, I am aware that it is possible to find books even out of MobileRead supply, and I've heard that some people are willing to give money to get some of them.
So, I'll buy one of them to try.
I've read "Shogun" (see above for references
) some years ago and enjoyed it too. The "honourable house", the European quarter burning, the civil war. I remember most of it.
