These are Advertising company tags for (mostly white American) "Western" people of a certain disposable income range.
It's abusive to assume people born in a particular decade have a particular common wealth, interests, tastes and knowledge.

Sorry, probably the way the tags
works might be abusive, but imho it's not like generations aren't there.
The ones from just one year before mine was generations were conscripts - in a village - would be 18/24 persons, from mine we were 8 ones, later years had fewer borns each year. The ones from the '70 was going around in massive grops and toppped jeans' jackets, while we were quite dorkly in confront (but yes, maybe
we had a C64

, pardon).
Also, while on those years generations changed in 5 or 10 years, nowadays it can be 2 or 3 years between differencies.
Btw, I would like to guess what Tolkien would had said about LOTR being tagged as "hopepunk"

In 2019, hopepunk was one of Collins English Dictionary's new and notable terms.[5] A 2022 BBC article further explored the concept, describing it as "a literary and artistic movement that celebrates the pursuit of positive aims in the face of adversity." It highlighted Rowland's perspective that "kindness and softness doesn't equal weakness" and identified works like The Lord of the Rings and The Handmaid’s Tale as examples of stories with hopepunk elements.

Also, to do a thesis for an academic degree, in the '90, it would commonly (iirc) take 2/3 or 5 years, lately it became usual 3 or 5 months. (
Hopefully I'm wrong).
