I finally had a bit of time and capacity to test this out. It was super simple to install by just copying the folders over like any other KUAL launched application. All modes seem to work fine on my Scribe 2022 running 5.18.1. There was some initial confusion, as I did some testing. I thought there was a bug in dismissing the search pane, but it turns out that the BT keyboard I am using (iClever IC-BK05) defaults to media functions on the top row and needs Fn-Esc to register as Esc. I also had to read the Textadept manual to discover that Del/BkSp doesn't work in those input boxes, and to use ^u instead.

So, other than my own lack of understanding it works great!
