I'm a one handed reader on my Kobo Libra Colour (and other Kobo's). My truck has always been to hold the Kobo upside down and in my left hand. My thumb is on the front bezel, the index finger resting on the back of the Kobo (between the Kobo and the case) and the other fingers on the back of the case.
I've also swapped the buttons so that the top button does the forward page turns and is pressed by the thumb.
