You could try using the SD Card Association formatter to reformat the card before writing it. See SD Memory Card Formatter for Windows/Mac for the download link.

You may also want to try using a different program to write the image to the card. Several people have reported that BalenaEtcher or Rufus worked for them when the USB Duplicator Image Writer failed.
