I get it because in computer gaming, once the industry started to move away from physical media, and Valve via Steam became the norm, initially I still tried to buy physical and/or make backups of my Steam library. At some point I realized it wasn't worth the time. I fully expect that if some day Valve folds, there will be some way, either via them directly or tools made by the skilled public, I will be able to extract off and access my games. Same goes with Amazon books.
