I dislike having to open my devices so I open them once and install magnetic switches.
Then I can always get to EDL no matter how bad I brick it.
EDL cables only work if the mfg put the test in and the device is halfway working.

But you've got yours open already. Why don't you just find the EDL points?
Do you have a digital meter (DVM)?
