The UART points are not the EDL ("USB_BOOT") test points.

abltest is just listening to the UART for the right messages to get the timing of typing a lot.
There also could be a hardware problem of you typing to the device if it never responds.
But we're not seeing the normal boot sequence in u-boot.

Yes, if you're Amazon Prime you can order such a sleek cable.
You can also buy a crappy USB cable around the corner and make your own.
