Or in Ireland the penalty for enabling* cable TV or Satellite piracy against an individual (they use copyright violations via civil sue rather than the €5000 limited fine of criminal conviction for theft of service) can easily be €100,000 and seizure of all electronic equipment.

They threw out claim against copying non-pirated copyright work because of the precedent of Google winning the case of scanning as fair use (Google bought that judgement and lied to win). Google's scanning of complete copyright works is not fair use.

One law for individuals and another for corporations.

[* To be fair, the cable company only charges unpaid subscription against individual using Pay TV without charge, but Sky will look for lost sub + many €K against pubs using a domestic pay TV card]
