This small collection gathers the ghost stories of Hildegarde Hawthorne. The folks in these tales are going about their ordinary daily lives, when of a sudden — they are gently touched by visitors from beyond the veil.
This American poet and author was the granddaughter of Nathaniel Hawthorne and the daughter of Julian Hawthorne. A prolific writer, she produced more than two dozen books: biographies, travel narratives, and fiction; and dozens of short pieces. She considered her chief work to be her books for children. She is perhaps best known for her biography of Nathaniel Hawthorne, Romantic Rebel (1932).
