Two changes:
- Bug fix: custom templates failed with an exception when used on non-text columns such as dates, integers, floats, and booleans.
- New feature: you can now open a book list/grid tooltip in a dlalog window. This helps people who prefer to use the keyboard instead of the mouse. It also supports copy-to-clipboard of arbitrary selections.
Assign the feature a shortcut (it is "Show item tooltip in a dialog" in the "Column tooltips" section). Use that shortcut to show the tooltip of the currently selected cell in the booklist. Examples:
This feature works with both standard and custom tooltips.
These changes are now in calibre source and will be in the next preview/release.
